HIVE is a long-span roof built to hold events. It was a partner project for 1.056, intro to structural design, and I was responsible for the poster.
The form came from hanging-chain logic. I modelled a tensile structure in Grasshopper using Ariadne, then inverted it, so the same geometry that hangs in tension stands in compression.
Modelled in Rhino and Grasshopper, rendered in V-Ray, poster laid out in Illustrator.
